Sign Permit Granted Despite Council Denial

The state Outdoor Advertising Division issued a permit for James Stow to place a 10 by 4 foot sign on outer South Street despite the City Council’s disapproval. The council had been notified in September and, after Stow failed to attend an October meeting, voted to disapprove. The division now controls sign location regardless of local votes, with the sign just north of the Texaco station near the Lenox town line.
