Peace Corps in Race Work Is Planned
New York report says Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial Foundation plans a super Peace Corps style program to tackle race relations in the United States. Adlai Stevenson said a shortage of skilled experts exists and 19 foreign Peace Corps veterans volunteered for training. Trainees will serve in intergroup relations housing education employment and urban renewal with half salaries paid by the foundation and agency. President Kennedy endorsed the campaign and thirty states observe Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial Month ending in November.

New York's Quadruplets Highlight Birth Derby
New York reports a set of quadruplets born to a grade school teacher and her attorney husband. Mrs Martin Brecker, 21, delivered by Caesarean section and remained in good condition. The four infants weighed total 13 pounds 15 ounces and were placed in incubators as a precaution. Lead infant weighed 4 pounds, others ranged from 2 pounds 12 ounces to 3 pounds 11 ounces. Odds of quads cited as 1 in 680,000 to 1 in a million.

Manchester news reports Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge, 1960 Republican vice presidential candidate, will not enter New Hampshire's March 10 primary. Victor V. Le Mieux of Manchester urged Lodge to run, sending a cable from Lodge’s post in South Vietnam. Lodge, a former Massachusetts senator and former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., is noted for his role in the Hiss Eisenhower era.

The Westminster coroner's office ruled that Diana Churchill, daughter of Sir Winston Churchill, died by her own action from barbiturate overdose. The 54 year old resumed her maiden name after divorce from Duncan Sandys and was found dead in her Westminster apartment. an inquest was ordered after bottles were discovered.
