Reservists Gerwaski Begin Naval Reserve Training at Great Lakes
Edward L. Gerwaski, son of residents at 29 Curtin Ave, a Naval Reserve member, starts two weeks of active duty training on Oct 7 at Naval Training Center Great Lakes Illinois. Training covers naval history organization customs ordnance gunnery seamanship damage control first aid swimming and survival shipboard drills and sentry duty. They will return home after Oct 19 to their local reserve units.

Father Drinan To Address Berkshire Medical Society
The Berkshire District Medical Society invites men and their wives to a Wednesday meeting at the Wendell Sherwood Hotel at 6 30 with a talk by Rev. Fire incidents across city prompt multiple calls
Fire crews responded to brush and leaf fires along Cecilia Terr Springside Park and other rear properties on South Street, Berkshire Roofing area, Pontoosuc School, Hull Avenue woods Hancock Road Hamlin Street and Scammell Avenue. A car fire occurred at Burbank and North Streets at 12 45 p m and an oven fire at 48 Adelaide Ave at 4 23 p m.
