Wyandotte Worsted Co plans to shut its Pittsfield mill October 26 after years of losses and a surge in imports from low cost countries. The firm will sell the Keller Street building and machinery while employees receive vacation pay and due benefits under TWUA. Wyandotte is the third major Berkshire textile plant to close in five years, leaving two others.
