Massachusetts Blue Cross reports over 85.5 million in member benefits for the first nine months of 1963, a record period in its 26-year history. The plan notes a 4.6 million deficit but cites a statutory reserve protecting its finances, as it added more than 19,000 members, bringing total membership to about three million.
