Navy Aboard Submarines Adopts Hooded Escape Jacket
The Navy introduces a hooded life jacket for submariners designed to improve survival in below water emergencies from depths around 200 to 300 feet. The hood encloses the head with a transparent window, allowing breathing as ascent proceeds, and a tube regulates air flow to enable normal breathing to the surface.
