Quakers plan to cross into Canada with cash for aid
About 200 Quakers and antiwar allies plan a 2:30 p.m. Saturday border crossing at Derby Line Vermont to ferry roughly $2,000 in cash to Canadian Quakers for antibiotics and other medical supplies to aid war victims. The action, to violate the Trading With the Enemy Act, would see them prosecuted if caught. organizers say prior warnings to the White House and Treasury went unaddressed.
