Government stockpile sale to hit aluminum market
UPI reports the Office of Emergency Planning announced 300000 tons of government stockpile aluminum will be sold, 100000 tons more than previously stated, with 100000 tons available immediately and the rest bid later. Officials forecast sales could reach 200000 tons by year end, depending on need and market conditions. Industry sources call the move a government power play to dampen aluminum price increases.
