Polluters Could Face Pollution Tax, Says Study Unit
Washington AP A panel of President Johnson's Science Advisory Committee proposes a pollution tax to curb air water and soil contamination. The plan covers factories sewage systems autos pesticide users and even a bus radio. The group favors effluent charges proportional to pollution and backs tax credits or fast amortization to fund anti pollution projects. The Ackley committee and related agencies will study feasibility while Johnson pledges rapid action toward a cleaner world.
