Trash Collection To Be Proposed At Town Meeting
The Lee Board of Health plans three warrant articles for the annual town meeting regarding the town dump. An appropriation of 2000 would buy a garbage collection truck and a bulldozer, hire three men to run a rubbish pickup service and maintain the dump, under the highway department and town engineer Louis A. Airoldi. A second article requests 3000 to purchase waste land for a town dump. If the 32000 appropriation fails, a third article would seek 3000 for dump maintenance under the highway department. Currently the town leases land from Western Massachusetts Electric Co. for the dump, with Hugh K. Sheppardson paid 3400 a year to maintain it.
