Work Training Program For Youth Set by LBJ

President Johnson announced a youth opportunity campaign to provide at least 500 062 work and training opportunities for youths aged 16 to 21. He said federal, state, and local governments must act, with 75 000 summer jobs from the federal side and thousands more from private industry. The plan would expand the Neighborhood Youth Corps and seek local government training programs, aiming to create about 25 000 to 120 000 youth positions and up to 30 000 jobs through local programs.
