Sheffield Selectmen push local hiring for highway work
Sheffield officials moved to adopt a policy favoring local businesses on highway projects after two trucking firms complained about out-of-town trucks being used on County Road and Berkshire School Road jobs. Road Superintendent Schmulsky cited economics and timing, while Selectman Santi Gulotta urged preference for town residents if quality and price are equal.
