Guenther Resigns as Hudson Valley College President
Otto V. Guenther will retire as Hudson Valley Community College president at school year end in August. Health prompted his resignation per a board resolution praising his leadership and noting the difficulty of finding a successor. Guenther, a Buffalo native, led the college since its 1953 founding and previously held engineering roles in industry. He helped establish related institutes and served in technical education posts in Buffalo. The report also notes a local rummage sale benefited the Candle Light Society, and Sgt. David H. Silvernail completed a three year military tactics assignment in San Francisco before a Viet Nam transfer.
