State Bill Would Establish Youth Job Training Camps
A Boston bill creates a seven member state commission to establish and direct youth camps for 16 to 20 year olds to train for full time employment. It tasks the Department of Education with education services, under Civil Service, and sets six month enrollments with a two year cap. The program would support conservation and resource management, seek site surveys, and may receive federal or private funds. Ways and Means will study the cost. Reps. Carney and Condon filed the measure.
