Meter Program Goe s Black McKean Sees Profit
Pittsfield traffic chief Hugh R. McKean says the citys metered parking program, a loss in 1964, will be in the black by year end. Expanding meters, higher adjacent rates, better enforcement, and lower interest costs are expected to lift receipts by 10 000 to 15 000 while expenses fall. In eight years bond debt on a city lot will be paid, freeing 30 000 to 40 000 in meter revenue.
