Mr and Mrs Warren M Sweeney announce the engagement of their daughter Donna M Sweeney to David Henry Greenwood of Elmwood Conn son of Dr and Mrs Arthur E Greenwood of Lakeland Fla formerly of Pittsfield The wedding is planned for spring at Notre Dame Church Miss Sweeney teaches grade mathematics and science in Hartford Conn She graduated in 1960 from St Joseph's High School and North Adams State College in 1964 Mr Greenwood works for Pratt and Whitney West Hartford He is a Cranwell Preparatory School graduate 1960 and attended Boston College for two years.
Cheshire Mr and Mrs Howard Furey announce the engagement of their daughter Carol Ann to Richard Thomas Francesconi son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Francesconi of Dean Street. The wedding is planned for June 5 at St Mary of the Assumption Church. Carol Ann Furey is a 1964 graduate nurse at Plunkett Memorial Hospital Adams. Francesconi is a mechanic at South Street Motors and a member of the Army National Guard. Stearns PTA meets tomorrow at 7 30 p.m. at the school with Dr James A Bell psychiatrist Berkshire Industrial Farm speaking on child behavior.
HINSDALE Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Galok of Jordan Avenue announce the engagement of their daughter Roberta F. Galok to H Thomas Grandshaw son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold T Grandshaw of 61 Demnant Ave Pittsfield The wedding is planned for June at St Patrick's Miss Galok is employed at Fallwell Greenhouses Pittsfield and a 1963 Waubonsee Regional High School graduate Mr Grandshaw a 1961 Pittsfield High School graduate served three years with the Seabees Mobile Construction Battalion I including time in Spain and at Guantanamo Bay Cuba.
Prof R G Barrow chair of Williams music dept will address the Pittsfield Women’s Club guest night. He will discuss The Evolution of Orchestral Sound with live demonstrations and is a Yale alum who studied with Vaughan Williams Hindemith and Sir Henry Wood. Prizes will be awarded in the Pittsfield Community Concerts Association membership drive.
Eighty reservations are set for a father and son night at Briggs School PTA tomorrow. Buses depart at 7 p.m. for a center tour and movies, then return for refreshments. The Pittsfield Grange Women’s Club meets Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with a noon luncheon and silent auction. A 2 p.m. business meeting precedes a social hour. The Jean Baptiste group gathers at 7:30 p.m. at the Women’s Club with a social and preservation committee report.
