Sox Face Elmira Here Tonight After Second Straight Split

Pittsfield Berkshire Red Sox and Elmira Pioneers renew hostilities tonight at Wahconah Park in a fifth game after a doubleheader split. Lefty Dave Roberts of Elmira opposed by Dave Gray of Pittsfield. Pittsfield in fourth place, one-half game up on Elmira. Budd homered for Pittsfield in the opener won 4-0.

Pioneers Rally for 5-1 Win in Second Game of Split Doubleheader

The Pioneers scored four runs in the fourth, including a bases loaded triple by Larry Agrillo, to beat Pittsfield 5-1 and split the doubleheader. Claude Lockwood allowed two hits and fanned seven, with Tom Dukes finishing a sixth-inning uprising. Attendance 420.

Dave Jensen of GEAA pitched a four inning no-hit win over O'Connell Cadillac 41 in Babe Ruth League at Deming Field with 16 strikeouts and four walks.
