Camp Eagle commissioner Richard Ryer of Lenox announced a training session for unit leaders attending the camp this summer. The June 26 meeting at 9:30 a.m. will cover weekly program planning, unit leader duties, and health and safety in camp operations.
Fire record notes a small porch fire at 160 Lin St and extinguished by arriving firemen. The message details camp facilities tours, meals, and emphasis on operation across all areas. Mr. Ryer urges nonregistered leaders to sign up soon as openings remain for the July 4 junior leader week. Realty sales list includes multiple house and land transfers in Stockbridge and Frederick County to various buyers including Kimberly Clark Corp. and Kimberly Clark Corp.
John R. Wylde Jr. and James R. DeMarco, both Pittsfield residents, were awarded bachelor of law degrees from Georgetown University Law School in Washington DC. Wylde, a UMass honors graduate and former Army Reserve officer, plans to take state bar exams. DeMarco, formerly of North Adams, earned a Boston College finance degree and Marine Corps Reserve commission, awaiting Massachusetts bar results.
North Adams State College released honors lists naming four Pittsfield area graduates. Magna cum laude Marion Elizabeth Clark and Geraldine Seagrave Kelly. cum laude Andrew A Cowlin and Francis G Ryan. Clark and Ryan appeared in The Eagle list. Kelly noted in Dalton news. Cowlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Clifford Cowlin, married to Maryann Kozlowski, teaches at Greylock Elementary. He earlier graduated Pittsfield High, Berkshire Community College with honors, and holds a B S in education. Fire in England's department store awning started by a cigarette caused a one foot square burn at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Pvt. Pamela Love daughter of Mrs. Leslie A. Love of 1745 East St. completed eight weeks of basic training at the Women s Army Corps Center Ft. McClellan Alabama on June 11. She studied Army history traditions military justice and administrative procedures and is a 1964 Williams High School graduate of Stockbridge.
Nine Crusade for Christ youths will travel to a Youth for Christ conference in Ocean City New Jersey from tomorrow to June 25. Rev. William Vogt director invites prospective participants to call 44 Shore Drive after 6 PM to sign up for the trip.
