New England utilities back plan to share Maine Yankee power
Twelve owners of Maine Yankee and Vermont Yankee propose pro rata sharing of output with all New England municipals cooperatives and investor owned utilities. The move aims to halt litigation delaying financing and to ease long standing disputes between private and public power sectors. It follows talks on a regional power pool and prior lobbying battles over large generating projects in Northern Maine.
