New Guns for U.S. Jets Spurred By Viet Pilots
The Air Force plans faster firing, harder-hitting guns for F15 jets after North Vietnamese pilots narrowed air superiority gaps. Fiscal 1970 will fund gun system engineering for air-to-air combat and improved 10mm rounds, while long-range radar upgrades and foe identification gear are also pursued.
