Major Degas Exhibit Opens At Clark Institute In Williamstown
The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute unveils the full Degas holdings plus 10 loans from private collectors and museums in a major exhibit running through Feb 22. The show honors Miss Jean Boggs and includes two Mme Bertin drawings from Harvard’s Fogg Museum, rare prints from the Met, and Juxtaposed works with photographs to complete comparisons. The Clark’s Degas collection features oils, pastels, bronzes, and 42 prints and drawings, much from Clark’s 1919 purchase of Degas studio contents. The institute is open daily 10 to 5, admission free, with a lecture by Miss Boggs on Jan 20.
