Special Vote Unlikely For Greenberg Seat
House Speaker Bartley said it is highly unlikely a special election will be called to fill Rep. Joel S. Greenberg’s vacancy amid his pending resignation to become Berkshire County assistant attorney general. The process could take at least 19 weeks, delaying service beyond a short term, prompting criticism from Democratic leader Peter Arlos and local Republicans about cost and timing. Greenberg’s district covers parts of Pittsfield and Lenox, with potential candidates like Remo Del Gallo and an unnamed strong GOP hopeful.
