Leader Cited For Flood Control

A certificate of appreciation from the Army was given to Philip Shuter director of the Connecticut River Valley Flood Control Commission formed in 1954. Brig Gen Seymour A Potter Jr presented the award at Keene City Hall on behalf of Army leadership. The commission operates from Keene under a 1953 compact between New Hampshire Vermont and Congress approval.

Porch stolen from San Leandro home by unknown thief

Louie Perkovich 39 reported to police a thief removed his back porch measuring two by three by twelve feet from the San Leandro residence while he was at work. A source suggested the porch was described as a foreign national crafted item.
