Local Industries Contribute 1500 To Nurses Scholarship Fund

Five Berkshire industries donated 1500 this year to the Berkshire Medical Auxiliary nurses scholarship fund announced at the holiday luncheon hosted by Mrs. Thomas Norton. Contributors include General Electric Crane & Co Dalton Wall Streeter North Adams Hurlbut Paper Co South Lee and Clark Aiken Co Lee.

More than 50 attended the Berkshire Museum Auxiliary Christmas tea and new members’ reception yesterday afternoon at the Wilber? House. Mrs. Bruce W. Paddock and others poured, while Mrs. Angela Talbot with Miss Mildred I. Buttrey performed a Christmas musical program.

St Jean Women Name Party Chairmen

The Women's Council of L'Union St Jean Baptiste will hold its annual Christmas party tomorrow at 6 30 pm at the Women's Club. Mrs Daniel J Miraglia is chairman of the covered dish supper assisted by Mrs Alcide R Barbeau and Mrs Max Mattoon. Attendees are to bring a 4 grab bag gift. Christmas carols will be sung.

Angelina Ferrero Weds Raymond B Wescott in Bridgeport

Angelina Ferrero of 261 Horace Street married Raymond B. Wescott yesterday in St Charles Church Bridgeport. The ceremony was conducted by Rev John W Dial with guests including Mr and Mrs John A Cognetta. A reception followed at the bride’s home. The couple plan to reside in Pittsfield soon. Mrs Wescott is the daughter of the late Annibale and Anna Ferrero. Mr Wescott works for West Virginia Pulp and Paper Co.

Music School Schedules Two Christmas Parties

The Pittsfield Community Music School sets two Christmas parties for students in the recital hall on Saturday at 2 and 4 p.m. Activities include carol singing, music, and games with refreshments. Favors donated by Friends of the Music School. Holiday recess runs from Dec 19 with classes resuming Jan 3.

Eleven Girls Named for Winter Carnival Queen Contest

Eleven girls were chosen from 18 entrants for the 16th annual winter carnival queen contest sponsored by the Department of Parks and Recreation. Final screening completed at the winter sports committee meeting. Kickoff dinner December 28 at Wendell-Sherwood Hotel debuting carnival buttons to fund the event.

Christmas Luncheon Draws 100 At Methodist WSCS

More than 100 women attended the annual Christmas luncheon of the WSCS at First Methodist Church. A program of song and story accompanied an offering for The Christmas in Our Church projects, including gifts for church shorthand members, a homecoming party for students, church decorations, and a donation to the Christian Center. Mrs. Herbert H. Calderwood Jr. chaired, with Mrs. E. Whitney Manning directing the program.
