Pathologist testifies Koza died minutes after injuries
In Superior Court Dr George Katsas of Harvard Medical School testified that Michael Koza survived his injuries only minutes, perhaps a half hour. He estimated Koza died about 16 hours before his examination, finding multiple blunt-force injuries across the body and describing the liver, brain, and lung damage. The autopsy occurred Oct 12 1959 at Hillcrest Hospital after Koza was found in his Summer Street apartment. He noted minimal blood on underwear, suggesting little movement after bleeding. Other defendants include Dougherty and Kiley for murder and Polcaro as accessory before the fact. Patrolman Potter testified about the scene.
