Milton R. Bass critiques media frenzy over Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow, comparing star celebrity culture to old Hollywood idols. He notes Sinatra’s all-consuming entourage and notoriety, Farrow’s independence, and the ongoing soap opera surrounding Peyton Place. Duel of Angels at Berkshire Playhouse in 1860s France

Valiantly the Berkshire Playhouse company wrestled last night with Giradoux's wordy Duel of Angels. The production, last work of the French playwright before his 1944 death, centers on Paola and Lucille in a tale of good and evil in Aix en Provence. Paula is played by Shirley Cox and Lucille by Cheryl Kilgren with strong turns by Giovanni and Vipond. Lighting by Billington and Vedro, translation by Christopher Fry, opens with café scenes moving to Marcelus and Lucille homes, a dialogue heavy, morally complex drama.
