Ninety five state representatives joined as cosponsors of a resolution denouncing bombers who attacked a Negro home as inhuman criminals. The measure, backed by Gov. Wallace, passed the House and moved toward the Senate. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. urged economic boycotts of Alabama in three stages from Baltimore. Camden Mayor Reg Albritton halted a protest march of about 65 Negroes at the Wilcox County Courthouse, delaying further demonstrations until the voter registration dispute ends.
