Ida Remington attended a concert at Vinton and stayed with friends. Mrs Neal Long visited with Mrs Jack Long Sunday. Cliff Bunten and wife with Mrs Della Bunten. C H Plattenburg preached at Prairie Creek last Sunday and will preach next Sunday if no other preacher comes. Davin and wife visited Urbana with Davin's father who is quite sick. Lighting struck the hog house on the farm formerly J D Remington now Fritz Fox occupied taking it to pieces. Mrs GC Long and sister Mrs Jack Long spent Monday with Mrs Ed Harper. Mrs Sam Clime and Mrs Jane Beechler of Brandon went to Iowa City last Saturday to see their daughter Mrs Beechler in hospital. returned Monday with her. Boy Shot by Sister Near Norway Iowa May 1905
In Norway Iowa on May 7 a 12 year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs Peter Schlueter, was shot in the head by his younger sister who played with a rifle not knowing it was loaded. The boy is recovering well with possible speech effect. The incident occurred several miles southeast of Norway. Other items note Miss Vina Knouf’s return from California and Washington.
