Bryan for President nomination at Democratic national convention

W J Bryan of Nebraska was unanimously nominated for president by the Democratic National Convention in Kansas City after a 27 minute demonstration. Nebraska leaders spoke, votes were cast for Bryan, and the scene closed with cheers as the convention adjourned until tomorrow.

Stevenson Nominated for Vice President at Democratic Convention

Kansas City July 6 Adlai K Stevenson won the Democratic nomination on the first ballot as Towne Hill and other candidates faltered. A strong New York bid by Grady and Hill drew protests, but Stevenson’s lead grew as Tennessee shifted 24 votes, prompting a unanimous nomination.
