Benson Citizen Miguel Castaneda Dies at 42
Miguel F. Castaneda proprietor of the Virginia Hotel and longtime Benson resident died suddenly from a stomach hemorrhage at 42. Survived by mother, three sisters and four brothers, funeral at Catholic Church with Rev. Collymore. interment in Benson Cemetery. Also notes upcoming Theodore Knox Lyceum concert on Saturday November 11 with four artists delivering varied program.

Keystone Copper Company at Johnson Makes New Strike
A new strike at the Keystone mine in Johnson excites the camp and boosts investor interest. The Keystone Copper Company owns over three hundred acres with a 420 foot main shaft, a 30 hp oil hoist, and a 28 hp gasoline engine powering four drills. The shaft is advancing two and a half feet per shift. the new O. K. ground shaft is about seventy feet deep, with the last ten feet in high grade carbonate ore running 15 percent copper. The company is expected to become a major regional shipper. In other notes, a false tale spread that Dr. J N Morrison had died in an automobile accident, later denied as unfounded by the doctor who warned the report was greatly exaggerated.
