Cochise County supervisors led by J L Sparks J Roclx and Vance Johnson toured roads and jails with clerk A C Karger and county engineer J C Ryan to locate funding for road work. They were joined by J N Gaines and A H Gardner to gauge public input and bond needs. The report notes mixed road conditions from Tombstone to Benson and estimates a 1.2 million dollar bond would barely satisfy all claims.

Suicide at Cochise County Hospital Reported in 1900s
The Douglas Dispatch details the suicide of J. E. Parsons, 55, an inmate at Cochise County Hospital, who cut his throat with a razor about 8:30 AM after becoming despondent over a terminal illness. He died shortly after attendants arrived. An inquest was not held. The obituary notes his transfer from Benson for treatment of an aneurysm. The article also covers the Cochise County Teachers Institute annual meeting in Douglas with lectures by H. C. Minch and others, and Parent Teachers Day activities including a county spelling contest and a lecture on military training by Major Charles H. Martin.

Dance and Concert a Big Social and Financial Success
The Cochise County Concert Band held a successful eight part concert at Rink Auditorium drawing over 150 attendees from Tombstone, Willcox, Dragoon, Cochise, Tucson, Douglas and Huachuca. Fort Huachuca provided six piece music, followed by a long dance until 5 am. Proceeds netted $300 after expenses.
