The Benson Rifle Club traveled to Tombstone for its first inter club match with Tombstone and performed creditably despite little practice. Ward of Benson set high marks, while Tombstone won the shoot. a post match dance and a citizens meeting urged Liberty Loan bond support with organized canvassing plans across Benson Pomerene and St David.

Loring Brothers Buy Kline Forty Land Near Town
Los Angeles based Loring brothers have acquired the northeast forty acres of the old McCarthy place known as the Kline forty. They plan intensive cultivation and install an air compression pumping system at the flowing well with aim to sink additional wells if results are favorable. The project could address farming in the artesian water belt and draws interest from land developers. Charles and Clarence Loring and their families are staying in town at the Armitage house on Fifth street near the Catholic Church.

Rifle Shoot and Dance Set for June 14 at Benson Club

Catholic Church Benefit Grand Ball At Auditorium
A grand ball with refreshments will be held at the Auditorium on Saturday June 23 for the Catholic Church. It marks St Johns Day a church holiday this year on Sunday with good music and plans for a grand time. Cecil Jones who recently enlisted in the navy wrote from San Francisco he will sail for Asiatic waters via Honolulu and be away about four years his ship will land at a Philippine port and details were not given he is pleased with his new duty.
