Deputy W J Bennett with J W Dixon and T W Flower captured two bootleggers Tuesday morning after one ran out of gas and the other hid liquor. Bennett trailed a suspicious gasoline buyer who abandoned his car, then Flower and Dixon intercepted a second vehicle with a large quantity of booze. The owner of that car was later arrested.
The Warren District Commercial Club instructed its secretary to telegram Harvey D. Gibson in Washington DC reporting the district’s bid of 3505 dollars for Arizona wool quota donated by President Wilson to the American Red Cross. The message opposed Governor Hunt’s involvement and preferred negotiations through Washington.
