Miami Arizona February 23 local office of the Ajo Cornelia Copper Company reports encouragement from President Edward J. Grant in charge of operations. The big double compartment shaft is down 40 feet and high copper values are shown. The Ajo Cornelia property lies in the same basin as Ajo Consolidated, which recently sold for 12 million and adjoins the New Cornelia to the north.

Canning Season Opens as Hopewell Valley Company Declares Dividend

The Hopewell Valley Canning Company held its stockholders meeting at Columbia Hall and reported a profitable year with new machinery purchases. A 12 percent dividend on capital stock was declared and tomato delivery price set at $12 per ton for 1917. Benson Canning and Packing promises $1200 per ton with a 5 percent pro rata share of net profits for farmers.

Mrs Hawkey to Exhibit Spring Hats at Levy's Tucson

Mrs E S Hawkey in charge of Levy's Millinery will be in Benson briefly then at the Virginia Hotel parlors in Tucson to display a new line of Spring Hats at moderate prices. She will trim old and new shapes and invites customers to save orders.
