J H Clark dies of pneumonia at the Peake Hotel in Dragoon on December 14. A former Mexico copper administrator, he moved to Dragoon three years ago and boosted district development while negotiating the sale of several claims to a state copper company. Funeral held at Willcox with Masonic rites.

A Box Car Runs Away But Returns To Yard
A box car in the Nogales yard started downhill after a brake failure. It wandered along the tracks until the engine crews could pursue. The car eventually returned to the yard on the same railyard line, aided by the locomotive. The grade down the line caused the runaway to reverse course and come back intact.

New Concrete Bridge Will Be Built Across San Pedro
The Board of Supervisors awarded Topeka Bridge and Iron Co. a contract for a two arch concrete bridge over the San Pedro river on Dragoon road east of town. Construction starts early next year with traffic maintained during building and the old bridge moved north on wooden piers.
