Harry Blacklidge son of Mrs Laura Blacklidge and a companion were badly hurt when struck by a passing car while working on a tire beside their vehicle in Tucson. Blacklidge suffered two broken ribs and bruises. he is recovering at home with a nurse, with a shoulder later found not dislocated.
In a letter to his parents from Camp Funston Kansas Sergeant Orrick Robertson laments being kept on duty there instead of joining the war across the water. He resigned as sergeant to improve odds of going to France but was reassigned to the ordnance department and promoted. He now runs a large army storehouse at Funston and is recommended for further promotion.
The Arizona State Teachers Association will convene December 26 and 27 1918 in the Administration Building Phoenix at 331 North First Avenue. Topics include the Arizona School Law district recommendations to the next legislature handling influenza disruptions and association membership adjustments with the National Educational Association.
The Pomerene Liberty Club with fifty four members reports on canning and home grown produce during a season troubled by fruit scarcity and high bottle prices. Eleven young girls aged 10 to 17 produced a net value of 447 dollars in canned goods while learning bookkeeping and supporting thrift stamps Red Cross and War Work campaigns.
The ladies of the Red Cross promote a Christmas drive from December 16 to 23 to recruit new members. Membership requires only a dollar and a willingness to contribute to a worthy cause. There is still time to sign up.
Women captured twenty two of about 320 state and county offices in the latest general election. They hold no seats in state administrative offices or the senate but four in the house of representatives. At least one woman is elected in fifteen counties except Graham and Yavapai. Buy Baby Bonds.
Cattleman W D Allen of the Heart Bar outfit, Glenn Land and Cattle Co., arrived from New Mexico to visit family. He notes the old T J Ranch site fifty miles north of Silver City in the Mogollon mountains, with a twenty five square mile leased range on the Gila National Forest and over a foot of snow on the ground when he departed.
Mrs L A Drinkard of Jefferson City Missouri credits Chamberlains Tablets with rapid relief from long standing stomach trouble and nervousness. She reports improvement within a week after using the medicine sold by Moss Pharmacy.

A map of Arizona prepared under E. C. LaRue, hydraulic engineer of the Department of the Interior, will be sold to cattlemen at cost. The map accompanies LaRue's Arizona livestock report and provides all information a cattleman would require.
