Gravel Path To Be Built On Second Avenue
Due to hazards for children walking to W. A. Johnson School a five foot concrete path will run on the north side of Second Avenue between Church Road and Route 83 in the public right of way. The District 2 school board and Howard Selcke are coordinating the project with no cost to residents.

A car driven by Jose G. De Leon of Wood Dale ran off the road in front of Kroschel's Nursery in Bensenville at about 3 a.m. last Saturday. De Leon sustained a cut over his left eye and was ticketed for driving while intoxicated.

Mrs Andrew Clasen of 406 South Rose reported two cats menacing women on Rose Street last Monday evening. Officers captured a cat crouched in a window well near the Klasen home and killed it after tranquilizing attempts failed.

DuPage Moves to Block Rail Line Sale for Transit Use
DuPage County will file with the Illinois Commerce Commission to prevent the sale of the Chicago Aurora and Elgin railroad right-of-way. The county board authorized the petition to preserve a countywide easement for future highway or rapid transit use. R. R. In six of Addison Township's 35 precincts Democrats outvoted Republicans 3 560 to 1 537 in last week's primary. Precincts 33 and 34 in Addison led with 184 61 and 126 46 margins. Elmhurst precincts 4 and 17 favored Republicans 294 25 and 272 20. Itasca precincts 22 and 23 showed GOP edges of 249 19 and 275 30.
