UCS Chief Sees Growth Path At Manchester-Dorset Talk

Dr. James M. Toolan of United Counseling Service urged Manchester-Dorset solicitors to back a fund drive launching Friday to raise 12000 dollars. He outlined plans for a five to ten bed psychiatric unit at Putnam Memorial Hospital to treat acute cases locally, reducing transfers to Waterbury or Brattleboro. The UCS would be integrated with the general hospital, improving lab work and rapid psychiatrist access, while expanding services for students and families across Vermont communities.
