Tax Prepayment Plan Gains Favor in Bennington Districts
Bennington Rural Fire District and Village of Old Bennington have invited taxpayers to prepay anticipated 1966 taxes due to delays in completing the town Grand List. Early responses show over 50 percent of expected village revenue from prepayments. rural district reports a few payments. Officials weigh legal practicality for wider adoption across town and school units. The move follows court action delaying the Grand List, which normally would be filed by August or September.
