Air Strike Postponed 12 Hours

The Transport Workers Union announced a 12 hour postponement of a nationwide strike against American Airlines, citing progress in contract negotiations and a 6:45 p.m. EDT strike deadline. Route Change Approved for U S 7 in Vermont

Vermont Highway Board approved the general route for the four lane U S 7 relocation through Bennington County with two changes one affecting Shaftsbury and the other the Arlington interchange. The arterial will run between Pownal and Manchester as part of a broader Southwestern Vermont highway program. A public hearing will determine the Shaftsbury change.
