Underground nuclear plants seen feasible but costly
A Caltech led study for the Aerospace Corporation finds underground nuclear power complexes technically feasible though about 10 percent pricier than above ground plants. Key advantages include heavy rock containment and reduced environmental objections, with costs estimated around 25 million dollars for a one million kilowatt unit.

Florida Love Bugs Take Over Central Florida Roads
Thousands of visitors to Disney World and other attractions confront a Florida phenomenon as millions of love bugs swarm interstates 4 and 73. The insects, 3 quarters of an inch long, pair up and travel together, sticking to windshields and radiators, clogging headlights and posing cleaning and car maintenance challenges. Entomologists from the University of Florida call it the worst invasion since the species arrived five years ago and note the bugs do not sting. Residents and businesses adapt with wire netting, petroleum jelly, and car washes charging about a dollar per cleaning. Scouting troops offer washer services at rest stops while experts describe the life cycle and naming variants across Gulf states.
