Bonding Authority Plan Discussed In Vermont Session
Governor Hoff to meet with Vermont business and state leaders on September 30 to hash out a proposed general bonding authority. A bill to establish the authority will be introduced in the 1966 special session. It would allow communities to bond for municipal projects via the authority and use low cost bonds without harming the state's credit. The 1965 session saw the bill die after committee dilution.

Hoff To Attend Education Meet
Gov. Philip H. Hoff travels to Kansas City for an education compact conference aimed at guiding states in responding to the expanding federal role in education. Former Gov. Terry Sanford of North Carolina conceived the plan which would form a voluntary multi state body with seven member delegations. Costs would be borne by each state, and the compact would not issue policy but develop alternative approaches. Hoff and Education Commissioner Richard Cibboney voiced support for the idea and the concept.
