The Sony Vision reviewed by Nick Lyons
A critical look at The Sony Vision by Nick Lyons, noting its promotional tone yet readable passion for Sony and its history. The book chronicles Sony from Tokyo Telecommunications to a global electronics leader, praising its innovations while critiquing its lack of critical analysis and perceived promotional bias. It surveys Akio Morita, corporate culture, and the Betamax, and ends by questioning whether Sony shapes public desire too much.

Frayn’s versatile career as humorist and playwright
London reviewer notes Michael Frayn’s breadth beyond drama. He writes novels and satirical columns, translates humorists, and may have Tolstoy plays staged. His two new works Clouds and Donkey’s Years mix sharp character clashes with gentle humor, exploring perception and social foibles.
