Regional Airport Plan Set by Aeronautics Board
The Vermont Aeronautics Board released a regional airport plan outline proposing state administration of some airports. It notes that final adoption hinges on 1967 legislature action and airport owner attitudes. A hearing is set for Oct. 13 at the Statehouse to hear owner views. Bennington officials will decide on a possible transfer to state operation, with the board unlikely to push a transfer without consent. Four large municipally owned airports currently serve commercial and general aviation, plus four secondary size airports including Bennington Springfield Middlebury and Morristown Stowe area airports.
