Bennington housing study finds 82 percent beyond median income
A Bennington County Regional Commission housing report shows 82 percent of 1976 single family homes were unaffordable to many entering the market, with 63 affordable units available and overall regional housing stock aging. Public hearing planned at next October meeting.

Eagleton contended charges were used to undermine Lance’s reputation, noting the matter touches his integrity as Carter adviser.

Old Bennington Fire Claims George Spargo at 75
A fatal early morning blaze at Nestledown in Old Bennington killed 75 year old George H. Spargo, owner and son of the Bennington Museum founder. Fire marshal cites smoking in bed as the cause.
