Vermont IWY voting procedures criticized
Marie Dietz executive director of the Vermont Rights to Life Committee charges that Vermont women will be improperly represented at the national International Women's Year Commission convention in November. She cites alleged voting irregularities at a Montpelier meeting where ballots for delegates to the Houston convention were counted without being placed in boxes and after polls closed. About 1,000 women attended Vermont’s February IWY meeting, the first in the state, which Dietz called propaganda and said only the Washington IWY Commission would decide resolutions for the national meeting.
