Four Thousand Soda Cans Case Links Connecticut Man
Ellis Spaulding of Farmington Connecticut said he bought 4000 cans at a Stop and Shop in North Haven. The cans were found by Ellis Harrington of White River Junction in his basement and Spaulding planned to sell them at a Labor Day festival in Holland US Virgin Islands but the event had closed. Police were alerted after Harrington learned of the cans. Stop and Shop cites serial numbers and logs showing shipment to another store, not direct sale. The case is affected by Vermont's bottle deposit law as the cans lacked the five cent stamp.
