Foundations Fund Requests and Quirky Proposals
A New York Times report contrasts serious foundation funding with quirky asks. It notes Max Neuhaus requesting 16 279 dollars to place sound equipment in a Times Square subway chamber, later funded 4 525 dollars, while Kellogg and Ford foundations rejected or granted small sums to other unusual requests including migrant worker relief, a rocket ship, buried treasure digging, and a Bicentennial human chain plan.
