Lake Shaftsbury Could Become Vermont State Park
Southwestern Vermont growers of a state park bid focus on Lake Shaftsbury. A 100 acre parcel now surrounds the lake, including the west shore, a Route 7 parcel, and the James, Matteson, and Rohm holdings. Gov. Salmon signals tentative support if criteria are met, with a team of engineers slated to report to Secretary of Environmental Conservation Martin L. Johnson.
