Hanson Succeeds Bowen as Red Cross Chapter Chairman
Bennington County Chapter of the American Red Cross elected Dean F. Hanson of 213 Main St as chairman at the annual meeting at Mt. Anthony Country Club. Hanson succeeds Raymond B. Bowen of Woodford Rd who retires after three years as director and two years as fund drive chairman. Bowen will remain on the board as vice chairman. Floyd L. Pillow outlined Red Cross military services including messages, emergency leaves, and possible grants or loans, and noted no charges for coffee at foreign canteens. The group re-elected and elected several officers and three-year directors, set a 1964 fund drive goal of $19,600, and applauded Bowen’s past service.
